Australia 24/25 22 December Great Ocean Road day 1

After working out we couldn't fit 6 of us and all our luggage in the car we dropped some things off at Peter's and set off to explore the Great Ocean Road,  the section of coast west of Melbourne with amazing beaches.

The forecast wasn't great,  with the temperature about 20c, rain and wind expected but we had fun stopping at different beaches, starting with Anglesea and then Lorne and inland to the Erskine Falls. 

Once we'd seen the falls we moved on to the Kennett River nature walk where we were koala spotting.  We saw a couple of koalas high up in the trees, which we were excited about because they were in the wild. 

Next stop was the place we're based for 2 nights at Apollo Bay. Grocery shopping and BBQ was a satisfying end to the day.
