Australia 24/25 18 December Freycinet national park, Tasmania

Today we explored with a long drive to the Freycinet national park in Tasmania.

The Grimms were kind enough to lend us their car and we enjoyed the scenic drive from Hobart to Coles Bay, with so many beautiful,  deserted beaches we were tempted to so at them all,  but we had ac wander at Kelveden beach,  then on to Coles Bay, where we stopped for coffee and ice cream,  and then to the Wineglass Bay Lookout to see the beach voted No.1 in Australia. It was a perfect day for a walk,  20c and sunny,  but not too windy.

Toby was really excited to see a wallaby in the car park and he got some great photos,  including a selfie!

On the way back we spent some time at Honeymoon Bay with a canoe and hammock and beautiful sunshine.  There were even some people half their wedding photos there.

For a late lunch we ate with a spectacular view of Richardson's Bay from Freycinet Lodge,  with Matthew and I sampling a glass of wine from a local vineyard.

Finally,  a stop at the lighthouse before we headed back with a short stop at the bottle shop to select some wine from the most recommended vineyards.

The day was topped off by cheese and local wine when we got back to Hobart.
